Recent Projects Development

  1. Study of business development for the planned Blue and Green Ammonia and Hydrogen plants including investigation of potential site, Natural Gas allocation, CCS/CCUS implementation, Utilities requirement, and Technical aspects, if the plants are constructed in South Sumatra and West Java. This study is conducted together with PT Pertamina, PT Pupuk Indonesia, Mitsubishi Corporation and ITB (LAPI ITB) in June 2022 until October 2022.

  2. Pre-Feasibility Study of CCS/CCUS implementation for the Planned Ammonia plant in Bintuni Gulf. This study is a new cooperation between PT KPI (PT Kilang Pertamina International, BP and ITB (LAPI ITB).

  3. GOKPL (Genting Oil Kasuri Pte Ltd) and PT LNG (Lintas Nusantara Gas) asked ITB (LAPI ITB) to conduct a study related to CCS/CCUS implementation at Bintuni. The Natural Gas will be produced from 3 (three) fields, i.e., Asap, Kido and Merah and will be injected back to the subsurface below. This study has been started since July 2023 for about 7 months.

  4. Pre-Feasibility Study of CCS/CCUS implementation for the existing Ammonia plant at Lhokseumawe, Aceh. This study is the result of cooperation between PT Pupuk Indonesia, Mitsui Co. Ltd, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, PT Pema Global Energi and ITB (LAPI ITB). The study has been started since June 2023 for 4 month.

  5. PLN or The Indonesian National Electricity Company and their subsidiaries companies asked ITB (LAPI ITB) to conduct 3 studies in 2022 – 2023.

  6. The cooperation between PT Panca Amara Utama, JOGMEC, Mitsubishi Corp., Pertamina and ITB (LAPI ITB) continued to the 2nd phase.

  7. A fast-screening study has been carried out in the First semester of 2023 between JINDI South Jambi B and ITB (LAPI ITB) for about 2 weeks, to see the possibility of CCS/CCUS implementation at Bungkal, Bungin and Rayun fields in South Sumatra.

  8. ITB signed a new cooperation with Carbon Limits (Norway) to serve the Government of Timor-Leste for knowledge transfer on CCS/CCUS technologies and how to promote CCS/CCUS in this country. The cooperation is started from July 2023 for 3 month, and funded by International Finance Cooperation (IFC).
